It took the maxi-trimaran Spindrift 2 less than two weeks to reach the Cape of Good Hope after departing France on January 16 with an eye toward setting a new Jules Verne round-the-word sailing record. Time to beat is 40 days, 23 hours, 30 minutes and 30 seconds. While maxi-tris are hardly new, it’s still incredible watching these boats operating at speed, as it the case with the onboard video taken off the cape. Good luck using your high school French!
