It’s back to the future with West Marine’s new Men’s Dock II shorts, which are made from a cutting-edge, high-performance material known as “cotton.” For those new to sailing, cotton was once used for everything from sails to duffel bags. The material is also fully breathable and surprisingly comfortable, never feeling oddly slippery or clammy against your skin. For a leisurely day sail, these shorts are hard to beat. They have large cargo pockets, a zippered security pocket and tool pockets, just like those “other” high-tech shorts.
