Whether it’s on a through-hull fitting or securing a hose on your diesel engine, a hose clamp is a critical piece of equipment, so it pays to use a good one that fits.

With a Cruiser’s Pack stainless steel ABA hose clamp kit from Scandvik, you can be assured of having any and every hose clamp you’ll ever need.

Each kit contains 56 clamps in six different sizes from 7/16in to 2 11/16in stored in a waterproof Plano case. A flexible nut driver is included.

ABA hose clamps feature a band, one-piece housing and screw made of either 304 or 316 stainless steel; kits are available with clamps in one material or the other.

A six-degree thread pitch provides greater gripping power with less tightening torque, while the bands’ rolled up edges minimize hose wear. There are no band perforations, and the clamps are virtually vibration proof.

Q: Our Pearson 26 has a 110-percent jib that tends to rattle very noisily at the top hank. We only bought the old boat recently, but it must have been happening for a long time, since there’s a deep groove worn inside that bronze hank. The jib has an unusually large and wide ...read more
