Gear: Fusion Panel-Stereo

7261ab1f-6891-424f-a22f-14c946c08ba8

Plug & Play Stereo

It can be a real pain to install a marine stereo inside a boat, what with the tiresome business of running cables through cramped spaces and finding somewhere sensible to locate the speakers. The audiophiles at Fusion thought about this and came up with the Panel-Stereo, an all-in-one unit that can be mounted on any convenient bulkhead. Boasting Class D amplification, DSP signal processing, a pair of 3in speakers and a passive bass radiator, the Panel-Stereo has excellent sound quality. It can be controlled from an Apple or Android app (or a Garmin watch) and offers AM/FM, USB, AUX and Bluetooth source options. It can be surface- or flush-mounted.

Fabricating a Tablet Holder

During the pandemic, I was stuck aboard Guiding Light, a Lagoon 410, in St. Lucia for over a month. During that time, as I worked on the boat, I started by doing a spring cleaning in my spares locker and finding some parts and material that I forgot I had. As soon as I saw them, ...read more
