Sailboats can be remarkably noisy when it comes time to dock or anchor. The wind, the rumble of the auxiliary, the chatter of the windlass: all these things and more can make it surprisingly hard to hear what the person at the other end of even a smaller boat is saying. To solve this problem, Cruising Solutions now offers what it calls “My-Team-Talks,” a clever Bluetooth-powered headset that takes the guesswork out of onboard communications once and for all. Comfortable, secure, water-resistant and with a crystal clear signal, the headsets not only allow hands-free operation, but will stay on your head, even when you’re leaning out trying to figure out what the rode is up to. The systems can also be integrated with a smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device, but in our opinion a pair of the headsets is really the way to go.

$179 per headset. Cruising Solutions, cruisingsolutions.com
