This carbon-fiber/epoxy performance cruiser is the result of yet another collaboration—this time between noted cruising boat designers J&J Design and performance specialists Doug Peterson and Guillaume Verdier. The former lends his expertise in refining hull and foil lines, the latter brings a long background in Open 60 solo racer deck and cockpit design.
The 57 was conceived as a fast yet comfortable cruiser that can be handled by one or two crew while eating up miles at a prodigious rate. Hence the nav station in the pilothouse is handy to the cockpit, and the sailplan is set up for shorthanded sailing. The aggressive hull chine and fixed sprit hint at this boat’s potential. Hull #1 will be on the water later this year.
