Monty North has started work on this sloop for a client who built a 78-foot ketch at the yard many years ago. The yacht’s overall length is the smallest that can accommodate the fly bridge and superstructure the owner wanted and do so without disturbing the sailing performance and looks of the classic hull form.

Designers worked for more than a year on the fly bridge concept. The original design began at 88 feet overall and gradually increased. The after half of the top of the deck saloon has a complete steering station, a galley counter and bar, and an ample dinette. The deck saloon below benefits from the fly bridge above, because it appears less obtrusive. Other interior spaces include a master stateroom aft and three double guest cabins with ensuite heads forward.

The yacht will be built in aluminum, and all interior joinery will be done by the yard’s own build team.
