Ocracoke Island is the southernmost island in the Outer Banks, part of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. It is one of Dennis Mullen's favorite weekend cruises aboard Different Drummer, a 39-foot Prout catamaran. He writes from his experience and offers tips to help you get the most out of your visit.
For five years, Marlene and I have left Kansas City each May to board Different Drummer, our 39-foot Prout Escale catamaran, at the River Dunes, North Carolina, and set out for six months of sailing. It’s not always blueberries and chocolate ice cream, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
On May 20, 2009, we were in St. Marys, Georgia, and it had been raining as hard as it could for 10 straight days. The wind was blowing a steady 30 knots with gusts over 40. Everything was soaked.
Dennis Mullen shares the top 50 things that cruising taught him while sailing the world on his catamaran, Different Drummer. Read what Dennis learned, and then write in with your own top 10 list.

Maybe it's Me

by Dennis Mullen, Posted December 6, 2012
