Best Boats 2013: Hunter 40—video

To celebrate its 40th anniversary (and a recent change of ownership) Hunter has introduced a new 40-footer that hones and refines several trends the company has been developing aboard its boats in recent years. For example, a mainsheet arch with an optional hard targa top not only keeps UV rays off the crew, but also makes it possible for a skipper to easily singlehand the boat from the two helm stations aft while guests entertain themselves at the cockpit table well clear of any working lines. Similarly, the Hunter 40’s B&R rig can support a high-performance super-roachy mainsail or an easy-to-handle in-mast main, all without cluttering up the back of the boat with one or more backstays.
