Vendée Globe skipper Jean-Pierre Dick’s hope of placing third was crushed Monday when his boat, Virbac-Paprec 3, suddenly lost its entire 4-ton keel just before midnight.

The weather may not have been the best, but on October 16, during a rainy, light-air day off Hawaii, U.S. sailor Bora Gulari did what no American has been able to do in over half a century—win a second International Moth World Championship.
It was a textbook Rolex Sydney-Hobart Race this past Boxing Day: sunshine for the start in Sydney, followed by a nice snotty gale in the Bass Strait by Day 4...

U.S. Sailor joins this Month's Open 60 Transatlantic Race

Open 60 fans will get a rare chance to see the boats in action in the United States at the start of the double-handed New York-Barcelona Transoceanic Regatta, the first of three IMOCA Ocean Masters World Champtionship races set for this year. The three-race series will culminate in the Barcelona World Race
  Skipper Loick Peyron and his crew of 13 crossed the starting line between Ushant and Lizard Point on November 22 and averaged 26.51knots on their 29,000-mile voyage.
