Wauquiez Pilot Saloon 55

Bookmark and Share

The largest design to date in the venerable Wauquiez line of seagoing craft is moving toward a launch date expected at the end of the year. A main feature of the design is the arch that supports the mainsheet, bimini, cockpit speakers, and lights. The yacht’s primary winches are electric and can be controlled from either of the dual steering stations. Both the main and genoa sheets are led aft under the coachroof coamings to keep the deck clean and uncluttered. The self-tacking jib will make shorthanded sailing easy, and for reaching and running conditions the bow has been configured for a furling gennaker or a Code 0 sail for light air. The full-batten mainsail can be trimmed from either of the two helm stations.

Belowdeck there’s a panoramic 360-degree view from both the dinette table to starboard and the navigation table to port in the main saloon. In keeping with the bluewater design brief, tankage includes some 110 gallons for fuel and 211 gallons for water.
