After completing a 74-foot catamaran intended principally for luxury charters, designers Van Peteghem and Prevost were asked by Sunreef to design a smaller catamaran that would appeal to private owners. With four units—two in aluminum and two in composite laminates— already under construction at the builder’s yard in Gdansk, Poland, there is little doubt that this concept has struck a responsive chord among multihull cognoscenti.
The flying bridge, with its teak dining table and mattresses for sunbathing, and helm station located on centerline on top of a fixed bimini over the cockpit are features of the 74-footer that have been made an integral part of this design. The designers are saying that the yacht is capable of cruising comfortably and safely at 12 to 13 knots.
