This November 1, SAIL’s Snowbird Rally down the ICW will launch from Hampton, VA and make its way south to Miami, Florida. Along the way, it will stop in BeaufortSouth Carolina where the locals have put together an extraordinary visit. According to rally host, Wally Moran, “Beaufort, S.C., has always been one of my favorite ICW stops. Its charm, history, beauty and wonderful people—not to mention the ease of accomplishing more mundane things such as provisioning—make it a perfect place for cruisers to stop, rest up and enjoy what the South is truly about.”

The “32.32° N, 80.68° W,” waterway event will take place on Wednesday, November 19, when SAIL’s Rally arrives in the Downtown Marina of Beaufort. They will be greeted by a personalized Beaufort host from the local Yacht Club, who will assist in shuttling them to acquire provisions and food, and will also coordinate carriage tours, activities and discounts for downtown venues and shops.

That evening, Snowbird Rally sailors will celebrate their arrival in Beaufort with a private outdoor dinner at one of the town’s signature plantation homes overlooking the water. The residence, known for having “the most beautiful garden in Beaufort,” will provide the setting for cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres followed by a dinner of seasonal, Lowcountry cuisine all served at farm-style tables beneath a rustic canopy alongside the harbor. The homegrown band, The Bull Grapes, will provide entertainment.

After Beaufort, the Snowbird Rally will continue on to Savannah, Georgia, and St. Mary’s, Georgia for a Thanksgiving celebration on their way to Miami, Florida, where the rally concludes on December 15.
