2012 U.S. Olympic Team

Based on the results of December’s ISAF Sailing World Championship in Perth, Australia, US Sailing has selected nearly the entire U.S. team for the 2012 Olympic regatta in Weymouth, England, July 27-Augusts 12.

Standouts at the Perth event included Paige Railey in the Laser Radial class, and Mark Mendelblatt and Brian Fatih in the Star class, who took bronze in their two events. The match racing team of Anna Tunnicliffe, Deb Capozzi and Molly Vandemoer took gold.

The United States has yet to qualify for a spot in the women’s RS:X windsurfer fleet. The women’s match racing team will be decided at a trials regatta in Weymouth May 4-9. For more on the U.S. Olympic squad, visit olympics.ussailing.org.
