In one of the more brilliant moves in modern sailing, the America’s Cup has opted to make live-streaming coverage of AC45 World Series events free and available to anyone with a computer.

Broadcasting straight from Plymouth, England, World Series coverage began on Monday, September 12, featuring fleet racing in both 40 and 18-minute races. GPS trackers onboard the boats tracked everything from boat speed to OCS, while onboard cameras and microphones made it possible to hear everything skippers barked at their crews. Oh–and the infamous Plymouth Capsize Club? That was all caught on camera in real-time.

Conditions are intense, with winds gusting between 40 and 50 knots. Match racing is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, with the qualifiers set to begin at 14:10 GMT (10:10 EST) and ending with a fleet racing championship on Sunday, September 18. Which begs the question: can you reschedule your Friday morning conference calls? There’s a huge possibility you’re suddenly booked.
