Charter Chat: September 2012
Desolation’s Discounts: Earlier this year, Desolation Sound Yacht Charters unveiled its beautifully redesigned website, complete with stunning images to whet your appetite for sailing in this cruising ground. Now DSYC has added another great feature: every week, the company features a discounted boat and offers savings of up to 15%. If you’ve never ventured to the Pacific Northwest, Desolation Sound is a great place to start.
Expert Advice: With charter boats available in the Florida Keys and the Bahamas, 360 Yachting has expanded its vacation opportunities to include four new crewed trips, each led by a different expert. Sail in the Bahamas, kite surf in the Exumas, dive in Cay Sal or explore the Cays south of Georgetown, all under the guidance of a local expert, which will allow you to kick back and relax. Stay tuned, too, as 360 begins plans to open a new base on North Carolina’s Outer Banks.
Virtual Boat Tours: Bareboat Sailing Charters, which offers charter vacations from New York to Boston and all of the islands in between, now gives guests a way to see their boats before they arrive. On its website the company hosts five video tours, 25 minutes apiece, in which Bill Bowman explains each boat stem to stern, describing the systems, the sails and even the dinghy. Not only will these videos get you acquainted before you set sail, they’re also great for referencing throughout your vacation.
