With one order in hand and serious interest from several other clients, Morris Yachts is well along on the first Morris 52 hull from the board of Sparkman & Stephens. The new owners found that their S&S-designed Morris 42 was getting a little cramped with their three young children aboard and wanted a larger yacht with the traditional interior layout they presently enjoy. In this case “traditional” means that the galley will be aft, with the main saloon directly forward of it. The interior walls, bulkheads, and lockers will be built with raised panels finished with white paint and high-gloss varnished mahogany trim.
The yacht will have a large master stateroom forward with a private head and shower. There will be another cabin aft with a head and shower and also a quarterberth. All cabins can be adapted to provide additional sleeping accommodation when the entire family is on board.
Sparkman & Stephens continues themes established with their trend-setting 36-foot luxury Morris daysailer and its larger cousin, the Morris 42. The designers have reprised the fractional rig, distinctive sheerline, and traditional counter stern of those smaller yachts on this handsome 52-footer. It is scheduled to be launched at the end of this year.
